For I Wanted

For I wanted to be his glasses,
He would see the world through me

For I wanted to be the strings of his guitar,
Waiting to be plucked by him only to sound sweet

For I wanted to be the ring on his finger,
I would be wrapped around his fingers

For I wanted to be the fret of his instrument,
Eagerly waiting to be touched only to be teased

For I wanted to be the pick he played with,
As I'd be held tight for as long as the melody flowed

For I wanted to be everything about him,
But most importantly, a part of him...

The Love Offered

Dark. Pitch Black. The room had no sign of light. Air. A ticking clock. A breath. Was all that was the sound to be heard in the room. And in that room, she lay on her bed. Staring into the darkness, listening to the silence with a ticking clock, breeze and her own breath. The clock was 7 minutes past 3. In the dead of the night, blank and empty. No thought, no sleep.

She turned and twisted in her bed. Trying to fall asleep. She sat up in her bed restlessly. The blank and dark night was eating into her. The one thing she needed wasn't there. She was right there in that moment but it felt like it wasn't real or as though she wasn't there. Fear engulfed her. What if she discovered some thing she was not entitled to know. She stopped, she realized that is not the truth.

She got off her bed. Walked to the night stand and picked up her phone. She unlocked it and opened the dialer. She looked at the last call she had made. a few hours ago, before she got into bed. The dialer flashed a small icon with his image and the number next to it. She called the number. And as she held the phone up to her ear, she heard a message. "The person you are trying to reach is speaking to someone else". She immediately hung up. She had so many thoughts over take her. The monkey mind was at it's monkey business again.

But as this processed, she felt the phone vibrate in her hands and she saw it was him. She was hesitant to answer. Though he had called back - who was he talking to as this hour. She answered as few rings passed. "Hello" she said. "Hello" he said. "I just woke up, I'm wide awake." She said. "I can see that. What is it?" he asked concerned. "Nothing" she said. "My friend had called" he said."Oh okay" she said. She didn't ask who it was. He felt he should tell her? I trust him, she thought. But why did she feel differently for a moment. She said "I feel like I am falling sick". "Throat Pain?" he asked." Mhmm" she said. "Be careful" he said. "I will." she said. "I am feeling so sleepy" he said. "You haven't slept at all, you should sleep" she said. "Sure. I am." he said. "I'll try to sleep too. But I will call you if I can't" she said. "Do call me" he said. She said her goodbye and hung up.

She walked to her bed and went back to lying down. She was yet again blank. It was at that moment she realized, how much he made her human. How much he made her feel like she was herself. How much he was to her - only to realize the overwhelming came from her love to him. And how much she felt in emotion. What was so blank and empty few minutes ago was now full of him and her thoughts of him. She realized it was him that filled everything. He completed all that was there. He made it more real, more colorful and surely complete with love.

Someone who could make her feel so much in just a few minutes, in a lifetime would show her the world she felt. With that thought, she rest into the night feeling nothing but him and the love that was offered.

Worth

 (Re-posting Old Blogs)
Tiny droplets of water falling from the sky, splattering on to the wind shield of the taxi I was in. I told the driver to take a left turn and stop. I got out and tipped the guy for getting me to where I was meant to be. I walked towards the entrance of "Bla Bla" hoping I would see someone I know to come and greet me. But to my surprise only one of them was there. I said "Hi" and took a seat next to him.Wondering how gracefully I'd managed to get out of the house and make time for my closest friends.

Few minutes later, we were joined by the rest of our battalion. Just as we were hoping to have a good time, we realized that none of us had enough cash to afford the place for what we wanted to have. We compromised and decided to share whatever we were going to order.

And then to my surprise, I noticed something I should have noticed a long time ago. And along with me, someone who shouldn't notice what I noticed, noticed it too. That was it, the most embarrassing moment of my life had just occurred. My zipper my open and he noticed it too. I was turning red and was heading towards the restroom.

Just then, I heard a big crash. And there it was, on the floor, the beautiful Indian hookah, bright blue in color, completely shattered and then I had the shock of my life. The leg was tangled with the tube of the hookah. And realization dawned on me, I had broken it.

For a minute, all I could notice was reactions of shock and some of remorse. I was just standing there in the middle of the mess with a hand on my mouth not knowing what I can do or say to make them change their reactions. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't manage to say a word.

A bunch of waiters came rushing to where I was standing and had the "Oh-no-not-again" looks on their faces. That made me feel much worse. I slowly untangled my foot and stepped back. Just then one waiter came with a broom and tray and cleared the mess I'd made. He picked up the large pieces of blue glass and walked away muttering to himself.

I just was speechless. Never had I broken anything like this so clumsily. I was almost in tears. And my worst fear came upon me, we had not much money in the first place god alone knew how I was going to pay for the mess I made. Everybody's attention in the restaurant was on me and I couldn't do anything. I was then brought back to life by my friend telling me that it would cost us 1350. I was just still trying to recover from what I had just done.

My friends said we can do something and pay the money. Just then I'd realized something more important than all this mess. I'd finally understood what friends really meant. Instead of blaming me for what happened, they acted as if we'd thrown the hookah together. They were figuring out ways to make it work with the management of the restaurant. I just stood there and watched them. Feeling sad for what I'd done and happy as it taught me what these people meant to me in my life.

I just watched and thought what would have been my case if they had just decided to abandon me and leave it to me because I was the culprit, the cause for whatever had happened. One of my friends shook me and told me to go home and offered to drop me. All of a sudden I didn't want to leave all the mess I'd made to these guys to handle. I refused to leave when all of them walked to me and told me to just go home and not worry about what had happened. They'd assured me they will take care of it. And I was in tears when they helped me out of the restaurant and as I was about to get into the car which belonged to my friend, one of them gave me a hug and told me "Don't worry about it. Its just an accident. Take Care. We're here." and all I needed to hear was those words.

All my life I thought there was no such things as true friends. I'd never known there would be people to take all the pain for what I was responsible for. I realized their true worth. I left on that note and they managed to draw up cash from their sources and pay for the damage made by me. I was crying on the way home but not for what I'd done but for what they'd done for me. I would never want to lose them in my life. Today has taught me so much, much that I would remember for my entire life.....

Lost in my train of thought

I never thought I would ever let out everything I think of in my mind. But tonight its different. I cant help it. I have to speak my mind out. I cant hold it in any longer.

I'm just thinking how can everything feel so good with one person and the rest of the world treats me lavishly in a sarcastic way. Can i really follow my instinct with this person.Or am I just going to be back stabbed again.

I'm so scared. The night is collapsing on me and I cant pull myself together. I know its out of my hands. But i don't want this to be a beautiful dream. Everytime I've come across something I want keep safe for the rest of my life, I've struggled to keep it with me.

It keeps echoing in my head "only when you dream big the smaller the street looks". But I dont want to fall for its trap, maybe the is street longer than I'm expecting it to be. Am praying as I release my grip on my guard.

I just hope im not wrong. I dont want to be stamped upon. I dont want to feel like I'm being utilised for my niceness. As tears are rolling down my cheek all I can think of is how to push my thoughts away and how to shut my mind off. I am unable to do things.

I am standing here with a white flag in my hand looking for peace, when life just wont give it to me. I need someone I can trust. Some one I know who wont push me away after his/her work is done. People tend to picture my personality by my face, not by who I am.

Why doesnt pain find its way away from me? rather than crawling in to my lap. I dont want this dream broken. This dream is me.. if it shatters, I shatter along with it.

I doubt sometimes if it all worth the pain. Why am I feeling abandoned in a crowd. No matter how much I want to believe that the people I see around me like me for who I am seems like such a mirage.

What started as a whisper slowly is turning into a scream. I'm looking for the answer where the question is clearly .old friends become old strangers. I don't want that to happen.

Forget the future, my present is messed up no matter how many times I try to pick myself up to run to where I think I deserve to be. But I sure know that I am not wrong. It feels so wrong. All of it. Not the starting nor the ending. Just everything....

I dont know wht else to say to keep my mind clear.. I keep listening to whispers in my head

disappear. Silence is the loudest at times like this...

For what he believed in

Grey sky, little sunlight and loud sounds of thunder. I stepped out into my small yet cozy balcony to see what the weather looked and felt like. I allowed the calm yet strong breeze chill me. And again heard thunder, but saw no lightning. I stood there for a while looking at the kids play and people walking their dogs in the park within my view.

They were enjoying the weather. Screaming and playing catch, the kids. I looked back to see the clock. It showed 9.00 a.m. Right below the clock, my draws with his picture on the top. I stared at it and wondered “I wonder what he must be doing now”. I felt the urge to call him. But what if he was asleep. I didn’t want to wake him. He worked late and hard. “Sleep was precious for him” I thought.
I walked in and the drew open the curtains of all the windows in my room to let the subtle light in. It was a pleasant day. I turned on the coffee machine to grab my morning coffee. And again, there I was thinking of him. He made the best coffee. I could only ever think the coffee I made could taste so good. But then he always had my coffee without a complaint. I smiled to myself as I poured milk into my coffee.

I walked back to my favorite spot in my balcony. The small comfy chair I had managed to fit in my balcony was awaiting me. I settled in staring at the birds chirping on a nearby tree branch. Birds, those little things with so much life can make your day bright. I was once again remembering him. He loved nature. I learned the art of observing and relishing nature from him. So observant he would be, that he would notice the slightest of things in the nature around him.I became him so much so, that I could even feel his presence in the wind as if he was standing out in the open somewhere. I could simply feel it.

I took a sip of my coffee, feeling satisfied that my coffee wasn’t so bad either. I stared at the clock on my phone which now read 9.30 a.m. The urge only rising to call him and hear his sweet and lazy voice in the morning. I somehow managed to wipe the thought off my mind. I went back to observing the little birds on the trees nearby. I deeply began thinking, he made me so much of what I am today. I was never open enough to realize my capability to be able to become so much. I always underestimated my self. Yet, when he was around I was so much more and never realized it. He made me walk through it all. Made me become so much but never took credit for it.

Beyond everything, he made me feel complete. He made me feel important. Like, I was meant to be this person. He always confused me. His thoughts were always so complex. But still he compels me to think, maybe, he is simple, I am complex. That, something so simple, I am unable to process. He makes me wonder about me. I was startled by the loud sound from my phone. I instantly snapped back to the present. It was my alarm, ringing loudly. “Ugh.. I woke up maybe a little early” I thought. I quickly shut the alarm on my phone. Only to realize, my coffee was getting cold. I took another big sip.

I looked at the grey clouds and thought, they looked like cotton candy but with an unappetizing color. It was no surprise to me, that I once again, I started thinking of him. We would look up and tell each other what each cloud looked like. With him I could be a child. I smiled. He would call me his treasure, his locked up gold. He admired my creativity. I still don’t see what was so attractive about me, which draws him to me. Again I thought, I always underestimate myself.

But, for the nth time I questioned myself back and thought. But why? Why do I underestimate myself? I felt lack of confidence to even answer that question to myself. And then, it struck me. I was always so low on self confidence that I could only think that I would screw up things. I laughed at myself. Despite knowing it all, I felt powerless. I wondered, if I could ever stop feeling that way. Maybe. Maybe not.

I looked into to my coffee cup before I took my last sip. I loved the foam of his coffee. I walked back in to place my cup in the sink. I washed my hands and returned to my room. I walked to my draws and picked up his photo frame. I looked at it with a blank mind and a heart full of emotion. I looked at the way his eyes looked. Always so sharp - “like a hawk” I thought. I looked at his brows and the shape of his lips. I took one final look at his entire face before placing the frame back in its place. I turned my back to the draws and walked towards my balcony, to take my towel. And then, it happened! The unexpected! The one thing I missed, every time, I had this conversation with myself. How could I have not seen it?

It was all there, waiting for me to look at him and realize. I found the answer to the question I had asked myself, maybe, a thousand times before, just like I did today. Why do I underestimate myself even when he thought I was all these wonderful things? Because. Simply because, he believed in me. He believed in me more than I did myself. I heard my phone ring in the balcony, on my chair. I rushed to see who was calling. And it couldn’t have been a better moment, for him to wake up and call me - I answered. He said “Good morning sunshine”. I couldn’t help but smile to myself and believe that he believed in me to make me believe myself. This is true love.

The Writer's Block

There was a lot of noise. Noise that she didn't know the origin of. She knew it was coming from the inside of her head. She had to stop it. She couldn't silence it, but the only way it would reduce or go away, disappear completely was if she could pay attention to each individual noise.

The noise was nothing but her own mind. Asking her questions to which she had to find answers. One by one - she thought. The questions were various but they all had one thing in common; and that was him.

She shut her mind as she rose from her cozy sofa. She walked up to the mirror and looked at herself. She saw her perfectly arched brows that defined her intense black eyes. She knew her eyes drew him the closest to her. She noticed the sharpness of her small nose under which was the flawless cupid's bow. The shape of her lips was just the right size - not too huge, not too small she thought.

She had a small frame with assets that were more than just proportionate. She knew that she was a lot more than any man would have ever wanted. Smart, beautiful, successful and intelligent. Who would ever dare to deny her! She felt in power when she thought that way. But then he popped into her mind again.

But this time, she was hearing that noise again she had managed to snap out of for a few seconds. Her thoughts were too fast for her to even try to latch on to. Wandering into those noises, she thought she may lose herself completely.

I stopped punching in the letters on my typewriter and took a deep breath. Yes, it was happening! I was facing the writer's block. I knew this would happen some day. But no, "today is not the day!" I said to myself. I had to complete this at any cost. The stakes were high, the deadline was close; I needed to get this done! But it seemed as though this was not going anywhere.

Ever faced this situation? Well, I am grateful to god that in these many years, I never really faced a writer's block till a few weeks ago. I knew I had set a deadline for myself to complete the articles I needed to post for the blog. But, just when I thought I could handle all of it, I realized I had too much on my plate. Too much work and too much to write - yet, such little time to write.

I got extremely anxious and I thought this was bound to happen, ostensibly. I had taken all the work I had presumptuously & it was now professing to backfire. I decided to take a step back, reverse my thoughts and focused on the matter that was rather more important than me having an apparent panic attack. I was determined to beat this thing (i.e. the writer's block). Because I had to, and I had no time left to waste.

I immediately took a pen and paper only to jot down the reasons so as to why I was facing the writer's block and all the other possible reasons that would bring to this state. I wrote down all the possibilities as I knew I wanted to be prepared just in case the "writer's block" decided to pay me a visit in the future.

So. these were the reasons I managed to pen down along with their potential solutions:

  •     I can't find the right words: This was exactly the problem I was facing at that moment. I managed to begin but soon I was stuck and at a loss for words. I then immediately thought of a solution for this issue. I realized that I needed to be free of jargon and needed to remind myself to write like I speak, that way I would have to worry about words and also the reading experience would be a lot easier.
  •     I keep getting distracted: The next possible problem is distraction as you anyway can't find words; so, it's easy to get distracted. This problem of distraction is a serious issue. The slightest diversion and you could end up losing the flow and hell! maybe even the whole concept on which you had initially started to write upon. Keep your phone in complete silent mode. And log out of the social networking sites you are always online on. Turn up some music that gives you inspiration, if that works for you. I like to write in complete silence - I like the quiet, peace and tranquility.
  •      Someone interrupted me, and now I can’t get back the flow: Yes, it's extremely annoying when someone disturbs you in the middle of a paramount writing session. Like I said earlier, you might just lose the entire idea from your mind before you were able to pen it down. To deal with this, make sure you are in complete isolation. By this I mean, ensure to declare you are going to write for a given period of time and try to find a quiet and comfortable spot. This way, you will have the right environment to work in.
  •     I can’t come up with illustrations to underpin what I'm writing: When this happens, there is one obvious this you can always do, i.e. crowd-source your examples. Take from other people's experiences and write away. This doesn't only solve the problem but might give you a whole new perspective.
  •     I don't know what I want to write about: This is the most common problem that a writer can face. When you don't know what it is that you need to write about, turn back to your archive, look at all the other things you've written about and you might get at least a hint of what you could write about. Or you can randomly pick a topic, generally and then Google out a specification from the same.
  • I don’t even know where to start with the writing: This might seem like a huge hindrance once after you've decided on what to write upon. It may seem so because any topic may have a lot more sub divisions to it and writing about it completely in one go isn't the right way to deal with it. Break up the huge content into smaller portions and work on them one by one. Eventually, you can find your way through it by rearranging the portions to form your final piece.
  • I can’t think of an introduction: It is absolutely intimidating to stare at a blank screen/paper. If the introduction is proving to be a pain, start outlining or writing your content and then go on to completing the introduction.
  • I don't know how to take an approach with this topic: If you're having this feeling, it simply indicates that your topic isn't specific enough. Refine your title to say what you really want it to mean. It doesn't have to sound good right away; you can finesse it later. Just ensure it's clear, specific, and tells the reader exactly what the content is about.
  •  I'm just not in the mood: Unplug your laptop and go into a quiet room, free of distractions. Your challenge is to complete your blog post before your battery runs out. See if a little competition with yourself can kick things up a notch. Or just simply take a small break to free yourself from the pressure. Do something you really like doing in that break and get back to working on your piece again.
  • I’m not qualified to write such content: There are readers of all skill levels, so use your knowledge to teach those who are just starting out. Just be humble and honest about what you do know, and what you don’t. Remember: You’re good enough, you’re smart enough, and doggone it, people like you! If you are still unsure, make it a habit to do your homework on the topic before you actually set out to write it! And I'm sure, you'll be good to go!
I hope you find these tips useful for when you are facing the writer's block. I somehow feel, we need to look at the writer's block from a different perspective. It may give you the needed push to write an exceptional article.

The Change

Change. What does it really mean? Is it good or bad? Maybe Life would improve because of it or maybe not. Things might actually worsen. These are exactly the same questions running through her mind.

She was a fresh pass out from school and she was looking for college admissions in her much loved city. She was so excited that she was finally getting into her final stages of high school education, but before her happiness could last her parents gave her shocking news. It took time for her to absorb what her parents had told her. Time stood still for a minute. Everything around her became stationary. It was hard for her to believe her own ears.

She was told that she had to move to another city along with her family. The last thing she ever wanted, her dads’ job transferred. She loved the city she was living in way above the limits. She was completely shattered because she realized that she had to leave behind whatever that she had made up for herself from her childhood.

Her friends, her socializing mates, the places she loved going to, the beach which was her most time consuming activity. She had to leave it all behind. She spent the rest of the day inside the four walls of her bedroom still trying to console herself from the shock she just received.

She sat there on the chair next to the table playing with the lamp switch lost in deep thought just when her mother called for her. She came to her senses startled. She turned around and looked toward her door. She saw her mother entering the room. She pulled a chair close to hers and looked at her and said “What’s the matter honey? Why are sitting locked up inside your room? That’s not you, why aren’t you outside like always?” She looked up at her mother and broke down into tears and hugged her mother tightly “Mom, I don’t want to leave be it for good or bad! I want to stay here!” she said sobbing.

Her mother loosened herself for her grip and said “Listen sweetheart, I know this is hard for you. But none of us expected this either. You have to learn to handle yourself emotionally and accept the truth. It’s too late to do anything, we’ll be moving in about 2 weeks and Daddy has already got your admission there in the best college that suits you. You have to buck up. I am sorry. But think about it, you have a new place to explore! Maybe god wants you to look around every where. You have to pick up yourself and run with the crowd. But remember we’re always here if you need us, no matter what”. Her mother reassured her and kissed her softly on the forehead and walked out of the room closing the door behind her.
She was left to herself again wandering into her painful thoughts. So much so that she didn’t even realize how fast time passed by. She looked up at the clock and was surprised that for the first time in her entire life she had shut herself up in a room for a whole day without the thought of going out or seeing her beloved friends. She didn’t even go down for dinner.

She lay there in her bed, still thinking about all the fun she had in her life and the fact that all her wonderful memories were made in this city. She could always relive those memories as long as she was here. She could just go to those places, but if she moved, she wouldn’t be able to do so any longer. She was thinking about how she teased her BFF calling her funny names. She remembered the first day she set foot in her home where she made friends worth of a lifetime! She fell asleep engrossed in her thoughts.

For the first time, her peaceful sleep was troubled by disturbing dreams. She woke up in the morning and went to the hall and saw her dad worrying about what an effect this matter had on her. It was then that she had made up her mind. She loved her father too much to see him worry for her. She walked up to him and said “Dad! Don’t worry about me! Its all for good! Am sure I’ll love it there!” and hugged her dad. She also decided that very minute, that by locking herself in her room she is only wasting the precious time she had left with her friends and with the city that always held a special place in her heart!

She dressed and left her house earlier than usual. She told her friends about what had happened and explained how important they were to her. She spent days and days before she left, doing all the things in her life that she hadn’t experienced yet!

She learnt snooker, did bowling, skating, watched 3 movies in a row, blew up her pocket money and shopped so much that she couldn’t remember how much she spent. And she knew at the end of the day all that didn’t matter, what mattered was that these were the memories she would cherish for the rest for her life, memories that she would take with here wherever she went. All she did was spend time with friends and go to places she loved most.

And then the doomsday arrived. She didn't know how fast time had passed by and that day had arrived, the day she had to bid farewell to everything that she named her life there. She didn't expect to leave so early but she also knew she had nothing to regret about now. She had done whatever she wanted, only the pain of departing still poked her hard in some corner of heart. She overcame her feelings and gave one last look to the place she called home, where she grew up and then ran downstairs.

There her cab was waiting and by the time she knew she was already at the station with her family. She quickly boarded the train and looked at the platform and sat there still. She knew this would be the longest journey she had ever had in her life. She felt like she was already at another place.

She tried shoving away the thought from her mind and diverted her mind by talking to her parents and playing a game of UNO with them. She then ate and climbed into her respective berth and soon fell asleep. She awoke and looked at her watch, it was already 7. She got off her berth and saw that her parents were already up. They smiled at her and made room for her to sit.

In no time they had arrived. They quickly went to their new home and all freshened up, just then her mother announced that they were going to see her new college. She reluctantly got up to go downstairs as the thoughts of her previous school thoughts raced through her mind. She sat inside the car and then they arrived at a magnificent building. She got out of the car a little surprised and knew that her dad would obviously do only the best for her.

She walked in just when the institution head was coming out and she recognized her father and greeted him. Her dad introduced her to her new principal. It didn’t stop there, the principal had told her that classes would commence in 2 days time and explained her what all she needed to attend college. She went back home and unenthusiastically prepared for college and those 2 days just flew by.

There she was standing at the gate of her new life and turned back and waved goodbye to her parents and walked inside with a complete strange feeling in her heart. She asked directions and found her classroom at last. She walked inside when she saw a million odd faces looking at her and few of them smiling. She found an empty seat and sat down. People from her class slowly started approaching her and she gradually got to know them as well.

Months passed, though the first few months were hard for her to take in. She didn’t like the functioning nor the lecturers, until she found that one lecturer who saw her inside out. She was afraid to approach her lecturer not only because she personally feared her but also because she was told she was very strict and doesn’t mingle with her students much.

She thought she would never find a friend who loved her as much as her friends, but she was wrong, there was one person who came into her life like and angel and gave her all the support and love that she needed and that person, who was responsible for all the changes in her, another girl who had been through the same as herself.

She had brought about an immense meaning in her life. She gradually lost the feeling of being alone or not liking the place. Though she didn’t forget what she had been through to get here. She still missed her friends and kept in contact with them. Then came about a new love in her life! Now, now don’t jump to conclusions, it was the city. The city she thought that was the most terrible thing that could have ever happened to her. She got time to discover the city, its beauty and most of all.

Things started to get better than ever before. Her parents were happy she was happy what more did she need. She was smiling to herself thinking about this one day and her mother asked her “What are you all smiles about??” She laughed and said “Mom, you were right! I was sent here for a better life. Better than what I could expect. Remember when I said I want to stay back for good or bad… I don’t want to take it back but I want to also add to it that I wouldn’t want to leave this place as well, for good or for bad!” her mother and herself laughed about it together and she hugged her mother again jus like when she found out she had to leave her old life.

Change played a major role in her life. Maybe it is good or maybe it is bad… this fact can never be certain. But what is certain is you have to take life the way it comes to you. It’s your unique journey filled with things and people that are important to you and things that surround you. Maybe even if things didn’t go as well as in her case, just remember that the big man up there, is watching you and he has something big in store for you!

Owls in Greek & Roman Mythology

In the mythology of ancient Greece, Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, was so impressed by the great eyes and solemn appearance of the Owl that, having banished the mischievous crow, she honored the night bird by making him her favorite among feathered creatures. Athena's bird was a Little Owl, (Athene noctua). This Owl was protected and inhabited the Acropolis in great numbers. It was believed that a magical "inner light" gave Owls night vision. As the symbol of Athena, the Owl was a protector, accompanying Greek armies to war, and providing ornamental inspiration for their daily lives. If an Owl flew over Greek Soldiers before a battle, they took it as a sign of victory. The Little Owl also kept a watchful eye on Athenian trade and commerce from the reverse side of their coins.

In early Rome a dead Owl nailed to the door of a house averted all evil that it supposedly had earlier caused. To hear the hoot of an Owl presaged imminent death. The deaths of Julius Caesar, Augustus, Commodus Aurelius, and Agrippa were apparently all predicted by an Owl.

"...yesterday, the bird of night did sit Even at noonday, upon the market place, Hooting and shrieking" (from Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar")

The Roman Army was warned of impending disaster by an Owl before its defeat at Charrhea, on the plains between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers.

According to Artemidorus, a second Century soothsayer, to dream of an Owl meant that a traveller would be shipwrecked or robbed.

Another Roman superstition was that witches transformed into Owls, and sucked the blood of babies.

In Roman Mythology, Proserpine (Persephone) was transported to the underworld against her will by Pluto (Hades), god of the underworld, and was to be allowed to return to her mother Ceres (Demeter), goddess of agriculture, providing she ate nothing while in the underworld. Ascalpus, however, saw her picking a pomegranate, and told what he had seen. He was turned into an Owl for his trouble - "a sluggish Screech Owl, a loathsome bird." (Names in brackets indicate the Greek names for the same Gods)

My thoughts about nature

A pleasant nature scape advocates a deep sense of peace within yourself.

Watch the mountains and its waterfalls.
They never struggle, they are always at peace - a quality that’s' within them and within all of us.

In the morning, the reflection of the mist in the air is like the thoughts in our mind.

When these drift away, the true picture emerges.
It is for all to see, it is for all to cherish.

The temptations of natural glory echoes itself from the peaks of the Swiss landscape.

The landscape, snow capped first set amidst a pure white background, the Alps make a mercy canvas of natural colours.

Live, witness the musical water hit every possible note to make the rocky shore sing the time of nature.

The swirling wind sweeps past their hardened surface.

A land of art and culture is highly influenced by nature.

Mineral rich mountains that hide within them, the best marbles and stone have nourished the land's creative talents for centuries.

Water colours the ebbing sea, waves leave their signature on sand, slowly approaching dusk spreads its dark ink over a clouded blue sky.

The day’s work is done.

Nature follows its own trail, bending where necessary, using when required, like the smooth flowing river stream in the woods, nature tells us that life must go on, smoothly and evenly, despite all the hurdles in its way.

The soft white sand opens out into crystal clear water.

The amazing clarity of the waters teaches us to be transparent.
Be Clear, Be Pure, Be Perfectly Normal.

Lost...

Note:: This is not a part of the Tangled Series!

Staring outside the window there she was standing hoping she could get herself back together after what she had just experienced. Dressed in a black dress embroidered with white. Her hair pulled back into a ponytail. Her eyes staring in to the distance and her heart plunging into sadness. She never thought she would be this hurt and everything suddenly seemed dark.

"I got this from a friend who lives far away. I have told you about her." he said with a smile on his face handing her the package. She took the package into her hands and looked at it. She examined it thoroughly and handed it back to him smiling. "I wonder what she sent you"she said. "I am curious to know to. I have told you about how she is" he said rolling his eyes. She giggled at his gesture. "We'll open it together in a while. Do you want to grab something to eat?"he asked. "Sure. I am really hungry"she said grabbing hold of his hand as they walked into the kitchen.

They shared a short snack and walked back into the room. He grabbed a camera and handed her the package and held her hand leading the way to the terrace. After they reached the terrace, she asked "okay so what are we up to?" flashing her teeth. He laughed and said "Well, since I really can't think of giving her anything I will take a video that is make you the video of me unwrapping this package and send it to her". "Okay, that's a nice idea"she said taking the camera and turning it on.

With everything ready, she head the camera steadily and said "On the count to three, 1..2...3.." and started to record him carefully rip open the package. Slowly, as she adjusted the focus on the package, she looked through the view finder and saw what came out from the package. A chocolate, some photographs of his friend and a letter. He gestured her to stop recording. She did as he told her. And he handed the letter to her and asked her to read it to him.

She unfolded the letter and she started to read. "Dear Friend, I was wanted to write to someone special...." she choked. She didn't know where this letter ended. She continued to read and completed reading the letter. His expression was blank. She was torn apart from inside. She didn't know what to say. She handed him the letter and sat there next to him silently. He put his hand around her and said "She's crazy. Don't worry about her, she's just a friend. I have nothing to for".

She tried to comfort herself and she smiled at him and just let it go at that moment. She put it as the last thing on her mind. She started seeing more calls and texts from that girl. She knew she could trust him. She knew with all her faith he could never do her wrong. But the doubt just only started to creep more into her mind. She kept telling herself he wouldn't take advantage of her. She saw pictures of her in his phone and she didn't mind that either. She saw more by the day. Pictures of that same girl in various outfits.

She thought to herself, I send pictures of mine to only him and would send it to the one I belong with. She isn't with him then why is that girl sending him pictures and why was he sending that girl pictures. She felt broken. She didn't doubt him once but she didn't see the point of why he was encouraging that girl to do all of the things that the girl was doing.

She didn't know what to do. Could she confront him, but if she did he would think she is doubting him. She was clueless. She was back home and she couldn't fight it anymore. She was staring out the window as tears rolled down her face...

I love you too..(Tangled #1)

Sun kissed morning, with rays shining bright through the window on her face. She reacted to the warmth of the Sun. She reached out from her bed to grab her cellphone. "2 new messages" it read. Lazily in bed, she read through them and there it was, a text from him. "I'll pick you up @ 8, Gloria's coffee shop". She couldn't believe her eyes.

She glanced at the clock and to her horror it was already 7.30. She jumped out of bed and rushed into the bathroom. She undressed herself and there she stood under the shower with hot water pouring down on her easing her to her cores. She could feel her tension wear off.

She always thought and believed she did most of her intensive thinking in the shower but today, all she could think of was his eyes. And she still couldn't believe that she was spending the day with him, "When did that happen!" she thought to herself.

It seemed like yesterday when we were still strangers to each other, both hesitant not only to talk to each other but to exchange stolen glances too. She didn't know how this would end but she sure wanted to know the end. Because if she didn't try it would kill her from her insides. She clearly remembered the day when she first saw him. He was sitting in the corner of a crowded room. He was calm and composed and there was something about him that drew him to her.

Someone had yelled out his name just in time for her to grasp it. She held on to it ever since. She continued to drown in his thoughts. The first time she spoke to him and it seemed like he was dying to talk to her too. She knew out of instinct the minute she saw, spoke to him, she wanted him greedily all to herself. Anything she would share in the world for the price of having him all for herself. She saw the desire, at least she thought she saw the desire he had for her in his eyes. His eyes she thought for one last time. She brought herself to reality and quickly washed of the excess soap. She walked out of the shower and dressed herself. She made sure she looked perfect from him. She picked up her things, walked through the door shutting it behind her.

It was rather a cold morning it was almost 8. She didn't want to be late. She wrapped herself warmly and continued to walk down the street. Her mind raced into thoughts of him again. "What would he be wearing?""Would he be comfortable with me?""I'm sure I am mad about him but is he?". These were the questions running in her mind. And before she knew it, she automatically had carried herself to Gloria's Coffee Shop, which was quiet close to her home. She was waiting and she curiously glanced around for him. She stared at both sides of the street. "Still no sign of him" she thought sighing.

It felt like she had been there forever already. She just wanted to be with him, to see him. She looked down at her phone doubtfully not sure if she should call him. Just as she looked up from her phone resisting the urge to call, he came on his motorbike, flashing his million dollar smile gesturing her to hop on. With out thinking twice she walked and got on to the bike.

He started to drive and moments later he asked "Where do you want to go? What do you want to do?". She was overwhelmed by his presence but still as exciting as it may seem she was still hungry. "Why don't we get some breakfast?" she suggested. He drove off rather quietly to a nice restaurant in the neighborhood. As strange as it may seem they finished their breakfast rather much too silently but by exchanging those glances you'd never want to miss.

They walked out of the restaurant and he brought his bike from the parking lot. She gently held on to his shoulder and got on as usual. He again asked "Where to now?". She seemed kind of puzzled. She didn't know him completely neither did he know her. She thought he might have been feeling the same too.

She thought of a moment took her time as said moving close to his ear "Why don't we watch a movie?". He gestured in agreement and directed to the closest multiplex. He parked his bike and they walked to the ticket counter. He asked her "Feel free and pick a movie you like" smiling. She saw the screen displaying the movies playing and she picked the one she wanted to watch.

They walked in to multiplex and they were chit chatting about their classes together and how they found their new acquaintances to be. Speaking more about their views trying to know each other was all they were focused on. It seemed as though it was there, the spark they expected to feel. There was still some time before the movie began. They were strolling along the corridors of the multiplex looking at stalls displaying various articles. She enjoyed his company and it did look like he was enjoying hers too.

He loved her way of talking, her expressions and most of all her eyes. They captured him like he could drown in them. He felt like she was some one with a good head over her shoulders. He was at a loss of words to explain the amount of happiness or excitement he felt around her. Perfect he thought in his mind looking at her and her gestures. He glanced at his watch and told her " Time passes by so fast with you.. It's almost 4. Movie will start.".

She couldn't believe what she was hearing she was with him right from 11 am in the mall time passed by so quickly. Looking at stalls grabbing a bite to eat. All that they spoke, locked in my heart safely she thought. She walked quickly behind him in to the cinema hall.

They found their way to their seats and settled. She told him she was thirsty. He smiled at her and walked away to get her some water. She needed a moment away from him. She needed to breathe. Her heart was thumping so fast it felt like it was almost impossible to stay around him. He was taking her breath away. Everything about him seemed so perfect. She felt he was handmade by god. Made for her!

Just then he returned with a bottle of water, handing it over to her. She grabbed the bottle and drank a little to ease herself. She sat down again next to her. They were sharing the same arm rest, his arm touching hers. Her pulse was high again. She wanted to know if he felt the same.

He was mesmerized by her radiance, her beauty and most of her simplicity. Nobody is perfect, but to him there she was, the personification of perfect. She sat elegantly next to him. She was something like he never imagined. His angel he thought in his mind, secretly smiling to himself.

He wanted to understand how could she be so flawless. He wanted to know if her cheeks were as soft as they looked. To feel the smoothness of her marble skin. She was driving him crazy. The movie had started and he couldn't concentrate on it. All he could think of was her. That she was there right next to him with her arm glued to his like she wanted to feel him too. Hw wanted her to feel his presence and know that he right royally belonged to her. And he wanted to make her realize just that same fact.

He was hesitant but he had to do it, somebody had to make the first move. He slowed managed to entwine his fingers between hers. She didn't resist at all, it was like she was there all along waiting for him to put his fingers between hers. Her hands were cold and he wanted to warm them.

She was losing her mind from his touch. His hands were so warm. Her hands fit perfectly into his. She wanted him all for herself not only for the fact that she needed him but also for the little of the person she knew of him. Ultimately she wanted him. He moved in closer, she could feel him breathe down on her. She was losing control over her breath. And he planted a kiss right under her ear. And then at that moment she lost everything to him. She was at her weakest.

He had done what he never imagined and more surprisingly he was taken aback by the fact that she didn't resist him, not one bit. He held her hand more firmly feeling more confident by her reactions. He wanted her to read his mind. And he wanted to know how she felt. The idea of knowing her thought was starting to eat him up, but he knew he had to be patient.

The movie got over and they started to walk out of the theater, hand in hand. She was lost in him. And all he wanted to do was scoop her into his arms. They walked to the parking lot and were driving out. She didn't know where they were heading. It was almost 7. He knew she lived with a room mate who worked at night. He didn't want to give her any wrong idea of his feelings. But at the same time he hoped she would invite him in. She tapped him on his shoulder and asked "Where are we headed to?". He replied " It's getting late I should drop you home." feeling slightly disappointed the day ended so soon.

She was silent on the way back. She was confused what to say. She didn't want to let him go. This day was like a dream she thought. She wondered what was running through his mind, if only she knew..

With all this running through her head she didn't realize they had already reached her home. She got off the bike. She stood there staring at him trying to make up her mind. He was dying of the suspense, he wanted her so bad to tell her he wanted her was more important. He was feeling so helpless. He didn't want her to walk away from him with just a goodbye. She had to make a decision. And she had made it. She walked closer to him and said "Thank you for everything today. I was wonderful something I will never forget.", she took a deep breath and continued "Would you like to come inside?".

He couldn't hold his excitement but he had to be calm. These things aren't done in haste he said to himself in his mind. He parked his bike and walked behind her towards the door. He watched her while she rummaged through her purse to find her keys. She opened the door and walked in with him following behind her. She dropped her things on the center table and walked inside to fetch him a glass of water. She handed him the water and watched him drink while sitting next to him.

She was out of her senses, the man of her dreams was there sitting right next to her in her living room. She almost thought she was hallucinating. He thought the house was warm and cozy. Just like the kind of person she would be. He drank the water she gave. His heart was pounding so hard he thought maybe she could hear it if it concentrated a little bit. She sat silently next to him clueless of what to say to him. She was there waiting for him to make a move. She didn't have the courage to sum up her feelings and tell him.

He looked at her and said "Your house is nice. Never  imagined it to be so. It's so you". She smiled and said "It takes alot of work but i can manage i love my home". He smiled too. She felt like he was taking away her air every time he smiled. She looked down to the floor. He put down the glass on the table and moved closer to her.

She could feel him move closer to her. So close to her, she was about to lose all her senses. He gently caught her chin and moved her face up. She instantly turned pink. He looked in to her eyes for a minute. He could see her so clearly. She was looking in to his eyes too, lost in them. He moved closer to her aiming for her luscious lips, pink like cherries flashed in his mind. She shut her eyes willingly letting him move in closer. She wanted him. She wanted his lips to burn  into hers. Her desire was at the utmost peak. She was burning like fire for him. All she wanted to fell was him. She longed to be in his world.

He had been waiting for this moment ever since he had first seen her. looking her from so close her skin feeling like heaven. He wanted to kiss her and show her show his felt. He needed her to see his desire for her. He kissed her with all he had. Passion flowing through his skin and veins. His heart beating for her. She reacted almost so naturally to him. Her body reacted to his passion to his need. Her hand automatically moved to his hair. Her fingers through his hair. She was in bliss.

He could feel that she wanted him too.She melted in his mouth like chocolate. She tasted so sweet he thought. He loved her fingers holding clumps of his hair, pulling his closer than he already is. He gently pushed her on to the couch. He lay himself over her. He was still kissing him. It could never be enough he thought. He held her waist with one hand with the other caressing her cheek. He slowly moved down to her neck. Gently placing kisses on her warm neck. She was lost in him. She couldn't explain what he was doing to her. She lay there helpless feeling his need for her. She was completely hypnotized by him. He kissed her on her collar bone. He could hear her breathe heavy. And he glad to hear her because he knew she was feeling for him. He moved lower to her sensitive areas. She reacted almost immediately. But she pulled him up to kiss him again. She gave him all she had. She was receiving his powerful desire in return. She was out of breath. She stopped and pulled away from him.

He was confused. Why did you stop he thought in his mind with concern. She looked at him with love and said " I don't want to take things too fast but I'm in love with you". She didn't understand how she managed to say those words. She didn't know she could do it, but she did. She looked at him with all her hope. He didn't immediately react to it. She thought she made a mistake by confessing to him. He looked at her and noticed she was almost at the verge of a break down. He thought to himself if he couldn't confide in her what a man he would be. He held her face with both his hands and said "If I didn't feel the same way about you, I would have never kissed you". She was looking at him with tears in her eyes.He took her closer and kissed her once again with his desire and said "I love you too.."
